Sizings of our Costumes

'Medium' Size

My original costumes were designed for Key Stage 1 children to wear, which would be age 4 - 7. However, I fully appreciate that children come in all shapes & sizes, and also that they don't like to feel constrained. My costumes have always therefore been designed to be loose fitting, which means they will be comfortable. It also means the costumes don't need any fastenings - no buttons, zips or velcro.

The length of the Medium sized tunic, from nape of neck to hem, is approximately 75cm long.

As an illustration of how the costumes fit different ages, please take a look at the two mannequins below.

Medium sized costume on Age 3-4 size

This smaller mannequin has a height of 100cm, which is equivalent to the height of an age 3 - 4 year old child.
Medium sized costume on Age 8 - 9 size

This larger mannequin has a height of 133 cm, which is equivalent to the height of an age 8 - 9 year old child.

From these pictures you can see that the same costume, in the original 'Medium' size, can go from an ankle length costume on a 3 - 4 year old, to a knee length costume on an 8 - 9 year old.

With trousers underneath (red and black socks optional!)

The costumes are roomy enough that a child can wear leggings, or trousers underneath if they prefer.

'Large' Size

In response to demand, I have designed a new larger sized costume. Based on the original design this costume is longer and wider and will fit children from around age 7 up to age 10 or 11.

The length of the Large sized tunic, from nape of neck to hem, is approximately 90cm long.

Age 8 - 9 sized model

This larger mannequin has a height of 133 cm, which is equivalent to the height of an age 8 - 9 year old child. It is wearing one of our large sized costumes.
Age 9 model

This model is a tall aged 9, and is wearing one of the large sized costumes. And shades.
Age 11 model

This age 11 model is also wearing one of the large sized costumes.
